Reservation@1 generation, @1 person in the family & @1 stage of career!

Actually the problem is not with the people who are enjoying reservation system, the
constitution itself is in wrong direction. When it was made by Dr. B R Ambetkar, he did valid it for only first 10 years. Later the government bodies have extended that for their minority vote bank.

As per my view the best practice would be the reservation has to be provided for only one generation in that whole family, that too only once in their career stage, the choice can be given to themselves. At any one time of their career like at the time of graduation college seat or employment. Because if once they are given reservation, its meant that they became equally facilitated with non-reservation person, the why should he given the reservation at any other point of his career or to his next generation also? Why should they get habituated for reservation for
generations & generations, at all stages of his career repeatedly?

Once he got an equal seat in a college even with less merit to non-reservation candidate, he studies with same facilities & comes out of that college. Then again why should he given the reservation while going for employment? And why should his children be given reservation later? So at present scenario, if a candidate has given reservation in entrance test, he gets seat in college with less merit, then he comes out from the college & go for employment again he gets his job even with poor performance as they have their reserved jobs in that sector, he gets his family & again his children enjoys the reservation even though their parents are in good economic position with their jobs, it keep on going for their future generations also which doesn’t make any sense of providing reservation repeatedly & at all stages of their careers. This leads to improve the living standards of only that family who used his reservation effectively for first time, the remaining backward people will be in the same back lock stage if they lose the opportunity for first time. That’s why we still looking people who deserve real reservation in BPL; Bellow Poverty Line.

After all this is again stupidity & unfair about these minority leaders fighting for more reservation categories bothering government & others doing all this fasting tricks, strikes & spoiling public properties...its very cheap in mentality.!! And its nonsense asking for reservation in private sector also for which government is willing to do so! If the governments really want to help the backward people who need reservation, give them financial status to study by giving money or by providing free facilities. Why should a non-reservation person should lose his opportunity even with the better performance than a reservation candidate? Why do they want to snatch the opportunity?

After all every body who opts for a business is to get some profit out of that, then why would they need to employ some one who can not perform well & comes for job with just reservation?

Even this reservation should be in the form marks in the entrance exams, not as reserving seats in the college or employment. They can be awarded some extra marks.

I can surely prove that most of the students are reservation candidates who are getting detained & not completing their engineering in 4 years at present. Due to their admission through reservation, a non-reservation candidate who can perform better had to lose his seat in that college, so its obviously waste of that no.of seats. Also I can prove the greedy people who are above normal economic standards and enjoying the free seat scenario in engineering colleges@annual income bellow 1 lac, this is absolutely snatching the opportunity from a real need candidate. This is the present citizen’s standard of thinking & obviously corrupt government officials who gives them the respective income certificate just for bribe.

So please don’t leave more choices to citizens & educate them not to enjoy any public facility if that’s not meant for you, there is already some one who really needs it, please don’t grab the last food from his mouth!

Urban Slum Children -- Help their Education

There is a common misconception that children up to 10^th class get free education, but, it is not happening in urban areas since there are not enough government schools. So, the children living in slums are ending up going to private schools. When parents cannot afford it anymore, they are dropping out of schools. It is happening more with girl children.

Svechha teamed up with an NGO called WIN (Women in Network) to work with slum children. They adopt slums which are referred to as WINGS. WIN volunteers, called winners, 2 to 3 of them go to their WING every Sunday morning, teach them songs, rhymes, drawing, educate them about social issues like population control, importance of clean habits etc. Towards the end, healthy food like milk and eggs will be distributed to them. They talk to each child, understand their financial and social problems, counsel them in the process. They have discovered in that process that many children who are intelligent and interested in education could not go to school because they cannot afford.

So, they have hand picked almost 30 of them, 3-4 from each WING, who are good at studies and have a greater interest to continue. We request your help in sponsoring education for these children. It costs approximately Rs.5000/- per year. When you take up one child, we need your commitment for their study expenses until 10^th class. The child’s progress will be intimated to you every quarter. You can meet the child you are sponsoring any Sunday. All these slums are in Banjara Hills & Jubilee Hills area.

If you with a team of your friends would like to adopt a slum in this model, we will help you in the initial process until it gets streamlined. It is little tough because of the time commitment that is needed on every Sunday morning.

COMMERCIAL & IRRESPONSIBLE BROADCASTING BY TELUGU NEWS CHANNELS (TV9)

Recent news flow on a telugu news channel TV9 on 13^th November, 2007;

· 6pm IST (Flash News): “A boy has been kidnapped in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh” (Flashed for 20-30 times)

· 7pm IST (News Update): “First phone call received from Kidnappers to that boy’s parents demanding Rs.500,000/- for safe return of their son” (Flashed for 20-30 times)

· 7.30pm IST (News Update): “Second phone call received from Kidnappers to that boy’s parents threatening, if the police or media is with you, its dangerous to that boy” (Flashed for 20-30 times)

· News update on next day evening: “The kidnapped boy is killed”

One can easily imagine! What could be the reasons or chances for killing that boy without getting anything? What made the kidnappers to kill that innocent boy?

Here come the answers;

· When the kidnappers did ring for first time & demanded for money, they might not be aware that there is police & media was in contact with parents. As soon as they called & asked for money, within no time TV9 has updated its news that kidnappers have called to demanded for money (till now it is not a problem in updating their news as the condition is normal).

Now by watching their conversation on TV the kidnappers might come to know that police & media are with the victims. So they called again only to threaten the parents not to be with police & media, otherwise they would be dangerous to the child. Those innocent parents being in panic of losing their loving kid revealed everything to media also other than the police.

Now the commercial & irresponsible behavior of TV9 came into picture, they did also update the news with the conversation of second phone call also which was not at all useful to track that boy, that too flashing for so many times only to cash the viewers enthusiasm without even bothering & thinking about what happens next to the boy if the culprits watch this news also, which lead to killing of that innocent kid. So the culprits might come into conclusion that media is still with the victims, they must have killed that boy as the news has spread all over the state and they might be tensed of getting caught by the police if they still prolong that conversation. To be in safe side first they might killed that boy & escaped.

Who is responsible for boy’s murder? Police? TV9? Or innocent parents?

If one can think with a little bit of common sense, he/she can surely get into confirmation that the very first culprit is MEDIA for broadcasting the phone conversation even after the kidnappers threatened not to be in contact with media, later secondly its POLICE for allowing TV9 to broadcast like this sensitive news which may lead to dangerous situations, and lastly parents for revealing all the phone conversation to the media also other than police, even though we can not blame them, its just a common mistake they did in panic which has been cashed by TV9.

“So now it is our turn to protest against TV channel being commercial & irresponsible in life & death issues like the above case!”

This channel did not even leave this issue after that boy was killed. They have been asking SMS pinion questions like “what is your opinion in killing this boy?” because the will get income from these SMSs polled as they are charged in premium rate. This much commercially turned out TV channels we are trusting everyday & they have to be shamed of campaign themselves as fighting for better society.

Not only this news, there are some programs in all the telugu TV channels which shows all the murder & cheating cases by shooting with actors, nice interesting dubbing with expressions & back ground music which resembles as same as the real story.

I could not understand what is their motto behind this in telecasting these serials is? What do they want to show to viewers? What message the viewers are getting from these programs?

On top of it people may get ideas for doing like these things.

For ex: if one watches like this serial in TV & already he/she has a thought of doing such things (murder or robbery), what he/she gets from that program is nice ideas to do the same without leaving clues to police. He/She tries to avoid the mistakes done by culprit while murdering in the serial, also he will master plan in a way not to give clues to police as he/she came to know that how the police interrogation & inquiry goes in like these cases.

If you still think that TV9 really wants to show to the people what is happening around the state, I can give you the remembrance of the next day to bomb blast day in Lumbini Park, Hyderabad. All the people in the city & around the state are watching TV to check out the situation in city, condition of bomb blast victims, and their families, TV9 had telecasted actor Mr. BalaKrishna’s daughter & ex-chief minister Mr. ChandraBabu Naidu’s son marriage in live, highlighting & proudly saying all the way that the marriage function is exclusively covering by TV9 only. They were just updating bomb blast news on a scrolling at bottom of the screen, where the whole screen is covered by happy marriage function, when all the people were in depression & shock of blast. You can imagine why was that, because the only reason is they get paid for telecasting that marriage as live event. If some one thinks that how surely can I say they got paid for it, if it is free why not other channels did cover the same? There should be either of below reasons; one must be all the other channels would have given more importance to sorrow bomb blast news than the happy marriage function or they would have not allowed to surroundings of the marriage as TV9 is exclusively covering it.
